Neither is a great option in the long run (and I guess I'd best take my own advice). I've seen better results for clients on Wordpress - often because of their own internal search engine work. I have to agree with Sterling on this one - it's the driver, not the vehicle that matters. But, isn't that the case with all media channels?

Mike,
Here's what you need to know about this: It's like the Suburu vs the BMW guys, ok. It's all a pissing contest once you get into that world. The other guy's stuff is shit, your stuff if the real deal... but when you really boil it down, what is the big difference? Some functionality here anthere? It's the driver. And no matter what you're in, you're going to get flipped #thebird.

I hate Wordpress pretty much, but I'd still say it over Typepad. If you've got the chops for it, Movable Type is good, and Typepad is based on it, but I've never liked the more plug-and-play CMSs. I like to mess with it a lot, and Typepad doesn't seem like it allows for a lot of that.

So, I know I'm a tool for being the first to answer my own blog question, but there IS a blog entirely devoted to this debate: http://tpvswp.wordpress.com/
I've read through it - it's decent (hosted by Wordpress, by the way). But, I trust your opinions more (God knows why!)
